Why Volunteer?

Curious what happens behind the scenes? Want to lend a hand while celebrating + sharing your love of Charleston? Apply to volunteer! You’ll get an inside look at the inner workings of the festival while playing an essential part of making the festival a memorable experience for all.

 

In 2025, we welcomed over 400 volunteers who did just that—gaining firsthand insight into the festival’s operations while contributing to its success and ensuring a memorable experience for everyone.

 

We could not put on this festival without our wonderful volunteers!
As a volunteer, you may be tasked with:

Welcoming guests and ensuring everyone is excited about the event

Assisting with check-in, including assisting in the set-up of the check-in area, scanning tickets, and wristbanding guests

Supporting the set up and break down of events, including setting tables, stocking chef stations, distributing disposable materials, etc.

Supporting our culinary + beverage talent through the set-up, event, and post-event process, ensuring that our incredible experts feel supported + celebrated

Lending your culinary or beverage expertise

Who can volunteer?

Anyone ages 21+ is able to volunteer for Charleston Wine + Food!

Do I need to submit an application or a résumé to volunteer?

No, you don’t need to submit an application or résumé to volunteer for CHSWF. Please fill out the interest form here, and a team member will reach out.

Are there certain skills or training that I need in order to volunteer?

You don’t need any skills or certifications to volunteer! All volunteers will be required to participate in a Charleston Wine + Food volunteer training session prior to the festival.
